Spend the night in a room made of snow
The Arctic SnowHotel, located about 26 km from Rovaniemi, is one of the largest ice and snow hotels in the region. Inside, the rooms and corridors are decorated with ice art and coloured lighting and the temperature is kept between 0°C and -5°C. Guests sleep on frozen beds layered with reindeer skins, inside cosy sleeping bags intended for extreme artic conditions. The Arctic SnowHotel also features heated glass igloos that offer wide, unobstructed views of the sky for overnight guests.
Other amenities on site include a variety of saunas and restaurants, including an ice restaurant and ice bar. There is also an optional aurora alert service to wake guests during the night in case the northern lights make an appearance.
The Arctic SnowHotel is rebuilt each year by a team of specialist sculptors and architects and the hotel opens to guests in late December. The glass igloos are open for the entire winter season.
